LOCAL SCHOLARSHIP DUE DATES:
Sangre de Cristo Electric Association- One 4-year scholarship at $1,500 per year and eleven $1,500 one-time scholarships. Applicants will be judged on GPA, ACT/SAT scores, activities, goals, and financial need. TO BE ELIGIBLE, the applicant MUST BE A DEPENDENT of a Sangre de Gristo Electric Association member. Hurliman Scholarship Foundation will offer at least two four-year college scholarships to seniors who reside in Fremont, Custer, or Pueblo counties. The scholarship is awarded to students with outstanding character and superior scholastic ability. Go to: www.hurlimanscholarshipfoundation.com Application available in CCHS counseling office.
Dark Skies STEM Scholarship: $5000 renewable scholarship available for student pursuing a career in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. Applications available in the counselor's office.
Rotary Scholarships-Numerous scholarships available through the local Rotary Club. Applications will be available in mid-March in Mr. Bomgardner's office.
Custer County Faculty-Staff Scholarship- Merit-based scholarship to recognize students who have excelled during their time as Custer County students. Application available in Mr. Bomgardner's office.
Ben and Weldon Rusher FFA Scholarship: Scholarship available for FFA students pursuing career in production agriculture. Application available in the counselor's office.
County Sheriffs of Colorado Scholarship- Scholarship awarded every other year-odd graduating classes(2015, 2017, etc) to Custer County students. Applications available at www.csoc.org or by contacting the Custer County Sheriff’s Office.
Fremont-Custer County Farm Bureau Scholarship-$500-$1000 scholarship for seniors pursuing a degree in agricultural related field. Applications available in CCHS counselors office.
Colorado Mason’s Benevolent Fund Scholarship- The Mason’s award a state scholarship up to $10,000 a year(renewable!) and they also will award a local scholarship for $1000. The application is the same for both the state and local scholarship. In addition, the Mason's award 10 Vo-Tech grants for $3,000 each. Mt. Moriah Masonic Lodge Scholarship- $1500 scholarship awarded to Fremont and Custer County Students. Scholarships are awarded for academic and trade schools. Deadline is March 18th. Application available here or in Mr. Bomgardner's office
Mission Wolf Scholarship- $500 renewable scholarship available for students interested in wildlife, climate, and sustainable energy/agriculture careers. Applications available in the counselor's office.
Colorado County Clerks Association Scholarship- $1,000 scholarship awarded to regional winners. Minimum 3.25 GPA, community involvement WITH an interest in government, business, and political science with a financial need or hardship. Applications in Mr. Bomgardner's office.
Royal Gorge Artists’ Foundation Scholarship- Renewable Scholarship available for students with 3.0 GPA and must major or minor in one of the arts. Applications available in the CCHS Counselor’s office or go to http://rgaa.us/scholarships.html
The Richard and Iris Wilson Memorial Scholarship- $500 scholarship awarded to student active in extra-curricular activities. Application available in Mr. Bomgardner's office.
Jack and Ruby Geroux Memorial Scholarship: $1,000 scholarship available for student pursuing agriculture related field in college. Application available in counselor's office.
PEO Chapter AC Scholarship-Scholarship available for senior girls who are pursuing their education. GPA of 2.75 required. Based upon academic excellence, character, and leadership qualities. Applications available in CCHS Counselor's office.
Dan Riggs Memorial Scholarship-Scholarship named in honor of Dan Riggs, long-time Division of Wildlife Manager of Custer County, available for students entering the field of study in wildlife, forestry, agriculture, or law enforcement. Application available in Mr. Bomgardner's office.
Custer County Cattlewomen's Scholarship-$1,000 scholarship awarded to students who intend to continue their education in an agricultural related field. Application available in Mr. Bomgardner's office.
Lighthouse Pregnancy Resources Scholarship- Scholarship contest based upon essay. Application available in Mr. Bomgardner's office.
Wet Mountain Fire Protection District Scholarship- $2,000 scholarship available for student who is entering the field of Fire Service or Emergency Service. Application available in Mr. Bomgardner's office.
Custer County Alumni Association Scholarship- Two $1,500 scholarships awarded to Custer County students based upon need and merit. Applications due in Mr. Bomgardner's office.
American Legion Scholarship-Two $500 scholarship available to students who have immediate family member who is a veteran. Application available in Mr. Bomgardner's office.

Sangres Art Guild: Scholarship available for students pursuing education in an art-related field. Applications available in the counseor's office.
Black Hills Energy Electric Scholarship- 10 $1,000 scholarships to be awarded to students whose parents or guardians are Black Hills customers. Applications available in Mr. Bomgardner's office.
Canon City Geology Club-$1,000 scholarship available for a student graduating from Custer/Fremont County high school and interested in Earth Sciences. Applications available in Mr. Bomgardner's office. DUE in APRIL.
